Everything About The Jersey Shore Television Program

By Rogelio Scroggs

Jersey Shore has been an extremely popular tv program for quite a few years, so if you don't understand much about it, check out my write-up here to learn more about this controversial tv show.

Basically, Jersey Shore was once a reality tv series that was running for three years (from 2009 to 2012).

Shot in Seaside Heights, New Jersey, the series has to do with the lives of 8 young guys and girls, called guidos and guidettes, who lived for a time in the lively N.J. town and whom were followed constantly by cameras, filming their every step. The show was loaded with balancing work and drinking and partying - all of that packed with hard-to-believe characters. That's exactly what made it so fascinating to enjoy.

To be truthful, I think that the tv show was rather thrilling to see. I frequently laughed hilariously at some of the antics of the guidos.

However, what is a guido anyway? Guido is specified as "driver." It describes Italian-American men and girls who like to dress up and act in a specific fashion. Guidos generally have muscular bodies and are young and tanned. Male guidos invest a great deal of time in the weight room. Guidettes, on the other hand, share comparable attributes with their male counterparts. Dressing seductively seems to be a typical theme with guidettes. In addition, putting on jewelry is quite often a requirement for both guys and gals

As the tv series began shooting, the reception in Seaside Heights was not welcoming Locals already understood the antics of the cast members would cast a bad spotlight on their quaint little town. I don't understand how this was fixed, but the tv series started anyway.

As in a lot of reality television shows, the house where the show was shot was stacked with cameras from the front to the back and everywhere in between. The bathing space was the one and only area not recorded by 24 hour cameras. Some of the members of the cast later stated that they would go for hours under the shower just to get away from all the cameras. It was also exposed that much of the "bad behavior" was truly done to stage a show solely for the cameras. There is no denying that following young men and girls around with cameras all the time will have that effect.

I need to state that the critics didn't like Jersey Shore very much. Plus, numerous Italian Americans were rather put-off as their interpretation of "Guido" is that of an ethnic insult.

As the reality show continued airing, the controversy kept going as well with protests and major advertisers canceling contracts. It was these responses from the sponsors that at last put a final end to the show.

Jersey Shore was meant to be watched by young men and gals. Controversial behaviors that could only be comprehended by that age group were typically aired during "family viewing times" - when allegedly parents and children are watching. Finally, Jersey Shore could really be surmised as a low-value show for anyone except the young individuals it targeted.
