This article provides an insight on how to become a piano teacher. Playing a piano is very interesting and easy to learn. Before being a piano teacher, it is important that the person intending to teach must be in a position to play it perfectly. It beats logic if the intending person does not know how to play it. One must also be having experience in playing it. The experienced is gained through continues practice. One should therefore play the piano on a daily basis in order to gain the experience.

You should first make a decision on the number of house you are allocating each day for the lessons. This will depend on the number of students as well as the number of hours they are available for the classes. The next thing to consider is the place for having the classes.

It must be a quiet place where people are not making noise, most preferable a house. You can therefore decide whether to lease a room where you will be holding the classes or to decide to have them at your place of residence or at any other place which is convenient with your student and you.

The next thing to do is to look for the student. You should therefore come up with a good strategy which will enable you to get the students. Some of the strategies may include the following; carrying out an advertisement in the newspaper, printing out flyers, making of posters and reducing your charging rates as compared to other teacher. Good strategies will enable you to get enough students to start teaching.

Planning is another important aspect of teaching. You should be able to plan what you will cover during the first lessons. This calls for developing a proper lesson plan indicating what each student should cover each week until they complete all their lessons.

You can get this information by asking them basic question and rating them depending on how they have answered the questions. You can also inquire whether they have previously played a piano before. The other in formation to look out for is the kind of songs the students like playing or the type of songs thy enjoy listening to. This will enable you to know the type of songs to start teaching the student in order for him or her to gain more interest in learning.

You cannot know how to start the teaching not unless you know the level of the student. Since piano is used to play different songs, it is also important to find out the type of songs the student like playing. This will enable you to know the type of keys to start with which will be of interest to the student.

You should also ask them their name and always refer to them with their names. After getting this information during the first lesson, you can then plan on how to teach them effectively. You can also join an association of teachers in order to get an opportunity to share your experience with other as well as finding challenges which other teachers have been facing in the past.
