This Is Why The Cross DVD A Must Have?

By Cornelia Reyes

Movie releases are so frequent that one is likely to forget what movies have come out in the previous month. But there are some movies that need to be added to your movie collection so that you and your family can enjoy them forever. Getting The Cross DVD might mean adding such a must watch movie to your collection. This movie had been released in 2009 but it is still a rare find. This movie is not like a typical commercial movie. It is a documentary on a record creating journey of one man over years and miles. The storyline and visualization is sure to entertain and educate you.

The cast and crew of a movie may matter a lot to the audience. Many believe that if they are goind to spend money watching a movie or buying a copy of the movie then they might as well watch a star studded film. But there is no guarantee that having a star cast can offer a good gripping story. There have been over hyped commercial movies, with a star cast and crew, which have amounted to nothing. This movie may not have a star cast or crew but it defies peoples belief that starts can make or break a movie.

The movie is also the directorial debut of Matthew Crouch. Before directing this movie, Matthew Crouch had been responsible for producing movies like The Omega Code and One Night with the King. Making a Documentary his directorial debut was a brave step for Crouch.

People are wary of documentaries since they tend to stretch on for too long and end up boring people. At the same time short documentaries are too short and leave too much unanswered. But this documentary movie, having a 90 minute runtime, is of a length that grips the audience till the very end while rounding off the point of the movie.

Today we see that storylines are getting more unrealistic by the day. If you want to watch a movie that is based on a true story then this is one of the best. The documentary is directed in an way that the story is captured as it happened and no flairs are added to it.

Take a look at the protagonist of the movie. The protagonist is an ordinary man who found a mission in life. Arthur Blessitt found a reason for his existence in carrying a twelve foot wooden crucifix around the world.

The name of the movie itself may make people think that there are religious connotations. But the crucifix that Blessitt carries is stripped of any religious significance. The story is of the mans journey towards spiritual awakening, no religion if propagated or defamed in the movie.

Apart from creating a great documentary, the journey of this guy created a record. In the Book of amazing fetes he is placed for having carried the 12 feet crucifix for over 40 years and 38,102 miles. This spiritual journey makes The Cross DVD a great addition to any movie collection.
