Different Kinds Of Detailed Bridal Veils

By Leslie Ball

There are many different ways in which brides can bedazzle on their special day. For some, where the dress may not be overly embellished or fancy, they may choose other aspects of their overall look to add a little something special. This can be through use of accessories, like jewelery, or fancy footwear. Detailed bridal veils are a great attention grabber for the ceremony when the bride first enters, and there are so many styles to choose from.

A veil that has a lot of detail on it can be short; don't be fooled into thinking that only long veils can be heavily embellished. After all, a very long veil with a lot of embellishment is also going to cost a lot more. However, if you want to feel like royalty on your big day, then by all means go ahead and go for it!

Lace is a wonderful detail that can really bring a veil to life. It is a good choice when the bride's dress does not have a lot of embellishment, particularly lace. Lace can be very intricate and works well by itself as an edging for a veil. Where the bride may be getting a custom gown, a custom veil to match the dress is a wonderful idea and the same lace can be used.

Lace can look even more bedazzling if beads and sequins are used. Iridescent sequins are a prime choice in bridal wear because they add sparkle without weighing down any part of the ensemble. You can opt to have more embellishment closer to the top of the veil where you head is and secure it with pins so it doesn't fall. Alternatively, with a much longer veil that drags on the floor, you might want to have greater embellishment there, so that it holds the veil down when you are walking.

Crystals and rhinestones are another way to add some sparkle. Flat back crystal rhinestones can be added to the body of the veil in a scattered formation so that it catches the light from any angle. Crystals of different sizes are also a good idea when doing this.

As mentioned before, crystal scattering could be done more heavily around the top. Alternatively, the clusters of crystals could be placed around the edge of the veil. It is really important to know how to balance the decoration on the veil with the rest of the bride's look, including her jewelry and also any beading or detail that may be on her gown.

Pearls are a classic and elegant way to add detail to any bridal look. They can be sewn into lace detail, or used by themselves. Half dome pearls are great for sticking onto a veil's surface and, like flat back crystals, they can decorate the veil in any formation.

Mixing crystals, pearls and other beads and sequins will make for the ultimate veil in terms of detail and wow factor. You can go the extra mile if you find that your look is otherwise plain. However, if you have a lot of detail throughout your bridal look, then you are also allowed to go all out on your veil in order to match the ensemble.
