Beadwork - 5 Amusing Christmas Designs: Convenient, Good Looking And Attractive

By John McCullough

Christmas is the season of amusement, and if you are a fan of beading and bead craft, then you can use your passion for the hobby to fuel complete new appearance for your home this holiday season with a collection of free beadwork! If you are looking for fun Christmas beading ideas to add to the festive look to your house this Dec 25, then keep reading and we will outline five Christmas projects you can try!

1 - Candy Canes - Simple and attractive as beadwork go, you do not need much in the way of supplies to make these, and the designs are kid-friendly to boot! The excellent news is that with even a modest stock of supplies, you have possibly got everything you need to make several of these with supplies on hand, and they make fantastic decorations for your Christmas tree!

2 - Christmas Trees - Little miniature trees can be made fast and easily, with or without "decorations" (you can use multi-colored glass beads sewn around the tree design in different locations for a beautiful effect!). One more child-friendly design that comes together fairly quickly!

3 - Wreaths - Similar to the tree design, above, but a bit more complicated, and as such, possibly not as "kid friendly" (since they take a little more time to execute and see the results of your efforts, smaller children might get frustrated before they are finished). Still, it's a fantastic little project that looks beautiful when completed! Purchase a few shades of green seed beads to create shadow and texture in your items, and highlight with red bits of holly.

4 - Angels - A moderately more hard piece (and again, something that kids may not have the patience for), the simplest patterns to work with display angels in profile. Purchase different shades of white, silver, and gray to create a dimensional effect in your pieces. These look great on the tree!

5 - Snowflakes - Of all the beading ideas mentioned here, the snowflake pattern is the hardest one to get right. This is absolutely not a pattern that small children could help with, as these can get fairly complicated. They make among the most gorgeous and striking decorations on the tree, but, and if you have got the skill level and patience for it, you'll be well rewarded for your efforts! Executing one pattern well is (or can be) a somewhat daunting task, but if you're feeling especially adventurous, you can try making every snowflake on your tree unique! It's a tall order, but can surely be done, just be ready to dedicate quite a lot of time to the task!

As you can see from just the 5 beadwork above, there are all kinds of fun holiday beading tasks you can sink your teeth into, and this list just barely scratches the surface!
