Crafting Emails That Turn A Profit

By Hilary Bein

You know, full well, that if you want to make money online, you must have an email list. We will never be wasting any time attempting to persuade you that this is true. Instead it is simply going to inform you how to make sure that the work you do marketing to that email list is truly successful. Here are some of the things that you should do if you really want your emails to pull in money.

Do not be too embarrassed to let some personality show. When you're in business for yourself, particularly when you are in the beginning stages, you are going to want to be as professional as you possibly can. For some reason, most people believe this suggests that they should be dull and proper. All that happens with this is that your emails end up being deleted. Put some individuality in there. If you believe it can help you, use a few slang. Of course you want to only mail out emails that are written well, but "written well" doesn't mean that you can't sound like a human. The fact of the matter is that it is almost always the exact opposite.

Utilize storytelling to better explain your idea. It's true that all of us prefer emails which are shorter. Or perhaps we would like they could be a whole lot shorter. Needless to say, you want email messages that actually generate an income, and storytelling can be hugely helpful to appeal to potential customers. You're not going to accomplish anything if all that you do is list benefits of a product. Tell your readers the story of your product as well as the story of yourself. Readers are a great deal more likely to buy your product based on the story you tell than they are some dry or uninteresting list.

It is fine to insert a few pop culture references. "Evergreen" is usually the objective in terms of copy because you want work that will always seem pertinent. In the world of email marketing, though, putting some pop culture references in is one of the most effective ways to show that you keep up with current events and pop culture both locally and elsewhere. You do not have to share your notions on them (and you actually should not in this medium). Several well placed references, though, will go a long way to helping you make extra sales.

If you truly want to be sure that people are reading your email messages, you need to come up with a balance between entertainment, information and copy writing. You don't want to hand out a lot at no cost because then people are not going to see any reason to actually pay you for anything. Still, merely asking straightforwardly that your readers purchase something time and time again will be a big turn off. You should find a balance--you can do it--and then stick with it.

You could do all sorts of things when you would like to make an income online. Email marketing is one of the most crucial ones. You can use the things you've learned here and then watch while your earnings shoot toward the stars!
