This headdress is a made from a slender and long fabric and is mostly worn by men. The Islamic turban has become very popular in the Muslim world and is even considered as a national dress. Those who wear it are able to express their personality, beliefs and traditions in a more subtle way. Others wear them to uphold there customs and culture.

It is tied around the head for several times to ensure the crown is completely concealed. In order to carry out the wrapping process effectively one needs a special skill. A number of people are unable to perform it well and usually make wraps that are very tight. Wearing tight wraps is the main reason why they experience headaches. Getting enough practice helps one overcome this difficulty.

These turbans are available in a variety of colors. The most common colors are black, green, navy blue and white. The fabrics used usually define the type of the item. The fabrics that are commonly used are muslin, synthetics and silk. Despite the material used, they are always nice and fashionable. There are numerous unique styles that may be adopted and each of them corresponds to a particular occasion.

This headgear is very important in the Islamic religion. For ages, Muslims have been using it as a basis for identifying their own. It helps them to distinguish Muslims from non-Muslims. This is essential in strengthening social ties within this religion. The strict Muslim culture requires women to cover their heads and mask their faces. They use hijabs to dress modestly when attending public places. There are several ways of wrapping a turban such as plain, around a cap, Turkish women and military.

Dressing in this manner is considered modest by most of these people. The appearance achieved goes ahead to signify certain values advocated by this doctrine. It portrays boldness, devotion and self-respect. A number of events have unfolded leading to the emergence of stereotypes attached to these items. In most of the western countries they are associated with terrorism but this has not deterred Muslims from wearing them.

This turban is commonly worn by men during prayer time. It is a tradition advocated for in the Quran and is mandatory for proper worship. A few of them believe that when worn the prayers offered will be answered in about twenty five times. It has also been adopted by prominent and wealthy members of the society as a way of expressing their success.

It is plays several roles in the Muslim region. The various styles and colors represent different things. Muslim leaders are often seen wearing white ones while those believed to have family ties with Prophet Muhammad prefer black ones. Colorful ones are reserved for weddings and colorful events while plain ones with dull colors are for solemn occasions.

The Islamic turban is suitable for use in hot climates. A majority of the nations where Islam is the main religion are located in regions that experience harsh climate. They are used by people to cover their heads to escape the hot sun. Some people use them to protect their hair. They are used by nomadic groups to cover their faces while travelling through dusty deserts.
